Are there any solutions to deforestation

The wood is also harvested for products like paper, furniture and building materials. Trees have been cut down for resources ever since the first humans walked on Earth. Trees provide shelter, fuel for fire, food, and in some cases, medicine.

As people became more advanced, trees were cleared to make way for expanding communities and space for grazing animals. Deforestation increased during the Industrial Revolution as the invention of metal and saws made it easier to chop wood. According to the Rain Forest Preservation society, only 2. High wind and dry underbrush can spark flames in a forest, leading to uncontrolled wildfires. This natural occurrence can burn everything in the path, spanning dozens of acres in a matter of minutes.

In recent years, wildfires have burned up to 9 million acres of land. Though this can happen anywhere in the world, wildfires are most common in the western United States, where blistering heat, lack of water and electric thunderstorms create perfect conditions for a spark. However, given the right conditions, humans can easily start a campfire that spirals out of control. Deforestation is a major problem for the world. Many cannot survive this loss of habitat, leading to species extinction.

Community forestry is whereby local communities together with their local government and other local organizations such as schools, corporate, and universities join hands to start localized tree planting programs and management of their local forests. On various occasions such as public holidays, opening ceremonies, environment days, or other periodic localized activities, concerned local citizens can create awareness and plant trees.

This can be done within the surrounding areas as a method of boosting environmental sustainability and keeping the local forests viable. All local learning institutions, hospitals, local government headquarters, and the rest of the community can ensure trees are planted and the local forests are protected against damage as a way of finding solutions to the deforestation menace. Replanting or tree planting utilizes almost the same aspect as community forestry.

However, it entirely focuses of replanting, a feature commonly known as reforestation. Reforestation is the restoration or replanting of forests that have been reduced by fire or felling.

It requires an ongoing process and should not be viewed as a onetime thing. People, communities, governments, and organizations are all active actors. It involves selecting and dedicating large tracts of land mainly for the purpose of cultivating forests. Replanting, therefore, qualifies restorative measure of deforestation. Deforestation can also be counteracted through awareness and sensitization. Anyone can make a difference at some level by contributing to the fight to save forests and wildlife by making informed choices on a daily basis.

Using ecofriendly products, eating sustainable foods, recycling more, and conserving water and energy can help to lead towards zero deforestation. If we want to stop deforestation on a large scale, we need governments across the globe to be a part of it. We need to crack down on corruption and ensure the enforcement of forest conservation policies based on the latest sciences.

There is a need for global commitment to reduce greenhouse emission and innovative proposals with international funding to save tropical forests. All these efforts together will provide an efficient incentive to improve forest protection programs continuously. As mentioned above, there are lots of measures negatively impacting deforestation in the name of progress and development.

There are also many ways to stop deforestation for the sake of our climate and environment. A considerable number of organizations are realizing the need for trees as an essential part of saving the planet. However, there are influential stakeholders making profits and generating revenues without considering the hazardous effects on the land. The above five ways are just part of a long journey everyone on earth has to take in pursuit to save the planet, while if implemented correctly, they can have a significant positive impact and may support us to benefit in the long run.
